Volunteers needed at Essex Police Museum

10:00am Wednesday 8th February 2012

IF you have some spare time and would enjoy helping out behind the scenes at the Essex Police Museum, this opportunity could be for you.

The museum, based at Essex Police headquarters, in Sandford Road, Chelmsford, is looking for a team of volunteers to help its visitors and document the museum collection.

Essex Police Museum, which is a registered charity, provides free visits for schools and groups across Essex. It relies on volunteers to help its curator, Becky Wash, with the day to day running of the museum.

The roles include tour guides, archive assistants, an evaluation interpreter and birthday party organiser.

Becky said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone with an interest in museums or policing.

“Whether you are a student wishing to gain work experience or retired with some free time to spare, volunteering at Essex Police Museum can help you gain new skills and provides a service for your local community.”

For more information and an application form email Becky Wash at museum@essex.pnn.police.uk or call 01245 457150.
