Essex Air Ambulance clears up collection bags confusion

1:20pm Wednesday 8th February 2012

A CHARITY has issued a warning after clothing collection bags caused confusion for some of its supporters.

Air Ambulance Service delivered the clothes recycling bags to homes in and around the Chelmsford area but Essex Air Ambulance has reminded residents it does not collect door to door for recycled clothing and textiles so any proceeds would not go to the charity.

Hannah Ashby, PR and marketing coordinator, said: “We would like to draw to the attention of our supporters that these bags are in no way connected to Essex Air Ambulance.”

If you have unwanted clothing or shoes you would like to donate to Essex Air Ambulance you can take them to one of the charity’s Bag it Up recycling banks, which are in various locations around the county.

Visit EssexAirAmbulance.uk.com for more information.

Anyone concerned about any materials received through the door should call Trading Standards on 08454 040506.
